A True Champion

I've been working with Prapthi for almost a year now and I'm extremely impressed by her dedication, resilience & commitment.

As a young athlete, the trade offs are bigger. There is not too much time or room left for doing the usual stuff teenagers do.

She juggles her school, workouts & extensive training with the same level of dedication. EVERYTIME she wins a medal it swells my heart with pride.

We are all rooting for Prapthi all the way! Nutrition plays a crucial role in sporting performance & recovery.

While drawing up a plan we have to consider various factors:

  1. Energy Needs: Determine caloric requirements based on training intensity, duration, and frequency. Athletes generally need more calories than sedentary individuals.
  2. Macronutrient Balance:
    Carbohydrates: Essential for fueling workouts and recovery.
    Proteins: Important for muscle repair and recovery.
    Fats: Necessary for overall health and energy.
  3. Hydration: Adequate fluid intake is crucial. We consider electrolyte-replenishing drinks during intense workouts.
  4. Meal Timing:
    Pre-Workout meal
    Post-Workout meal
  5. Micronutrients: Ensure sufficient vitamins and minerals, particularly iron, calcium, and vitamin D, which are vital for energy levels and bone health.
  6. Individual Goals: Tailor the plan based on specific goals (e.g., muscle gain, weight loss, endurance).
  7. Food Preferences and Restrictions: Consider any dietary restrictions, allergies, and personal preferences to create a sustainable plan.
  8. Variety: Incorporate a wide range of foods to prevent boredom and ensure a comprehensive nutrient profile.
  9. Monitoring and Adjustments: Regularly assess performance and recovery, making adjustments to the meal plan as necessary.
  10. Supplementation: If needed, consider safe supplements to fill gaps, but prioritize whole foods first.

Needless to say.. there is a lot that goes into the making of a star athlete.
