Find out how I lost weight eating COOKIES, CAKES AND BROWNIES

My role as a Coach is that of a mentor. When building a rapport with a client, I guide, I advise, I analyze what’s going on in their heads, and sometimes have to work on altering their mindset. That’s how I get them from the place they are at to where they want to be. Often, it’s about getting them to their goal, realizing they can do even better, and pushing further.

But this can get really tricky when it comes to old friends. Because old friends always assume they know everything you have to say, and the rapport already exists. So to redraw boundary lines, challenge their existing habits, and establish a new relationship is not just difficult, but also risky.

Full marks to Nish, one of my oldest and closest friends. She fought hard, she argued, she questioned, but she listened. And she gave the relationship between Coach and Client the respect it deserves. She is an Education Consultant, which makes her a Coach of sorts herself. (Sometimes, not often, I find myself googling the words she uses in conversation). I mention this because it takes a lot for a person who has a world of knowledge to admit that there is something new still worth learning.

So, this is a thank you to Nish, for choosing me to be her Fitness Guide, not because I am her friend, but in spite of it. And man, she is totally owning her fitness — The Fit Bear way!
